  How many TVR accidents do you think they pay out on per year compared to the number of Mini accidents?  Insurance is all about statistics, not about what seems to make sense on a case by case basis.

My 1.8 mondeo is cheaper to insure than a 1 or 1.2 litre fiesta for me. My mondeo is even slightly cheaper to insure than a ford focus.

 

Its as Dan says. its to do with statistics. Most insurance companies don't expect a 23 year old to be driving around in such a big car.

 

Something I found helped was putting my mileage up. According to the girl I spoke to at direct line, people who do a lot of miles per year are considered more experienced so are less likely to have an accident.
