It's just as well FJ won't insure under 25's, they suck anyway. When I had my crash nearly three years ago, their customer service was appalling. My car ended up being damaged further by them, and eventually I cut them out of the settlement process altogether, instead liaising directly with the other side.

This culture of insurance companies engaging in sub-contracts with brokers and the like...it only creates a rubbish service for the consumer.

Just sorted my insurance with HIC.

Adrian flux quoted £680 and I managed to bargain HIC down to £635 with that.

The girl I spoke to at AF was really pissing me off, trying so hard to sell the policy and trying to convince me that if I put the the phone down and rang back i'd have to spend another 30 mins going through my details and the quote would be different price. Then when I asked if they could do it with agreed value included she said 'If I can will you take the policy out?' Give me a break, that felt like blackmail! When she realised I wasn't buying the first quote I had she took my details and rang me back the next day with the same spiel. It was like being harassed in a phone shop or car dealership.

HIC were much more chilled. Really friendly, fast and efficient on the phone (took about 10 mins to take all my details where as AF felt like i'd been on the phone for 40 mins) and there was no pressure to buy either. I rang them back 2 days after my first quote, the put me through to the same guy I spoke to the first time so he knew what I wanted and my car and it was all sorted in 5 minutes.

So got it for £635, with agreed value at £5000, all my mods declared and covered and got some nice extras like £500 stereo cover, trackday cover and cover to drive other cars third party.

Overall - Really happy and rate the HIC service highly!
