needs a rear fog light, not sure about side indicators but mine doesn't have them so i'd assume not, to my knowledge anyway.

Indicators :Vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must be fitted with one side repeater indicator on each side. Instead of a separate lamp, the side repeater might be part of the front direction indicator if it includes a wraparound lens.

As said a '90 requires side repeaters too, the front indicators are not wraparound lamps. They aren't visible from the angles required of side repeaters.

Dont you have holes for where the side indicators should be?

Could have had replacement wings without the repeater holes. The wiring should still be in the car if you are lucky for the fog light.

Yes it will be wired for both, and fitting the fog lamp is easy (don't be tempted to turn part of a rear cluster into a fog lamp as it doesn't satisfy the law). It's just fitting the side repeater units that will be a problem if the wings aren't pierced.

It's relatively common for people to fit replacement wings without side repeater holes on post 86 cars, either for styling reasons or simply because unpeirced wings tend to be cheaper to buy. It's illegal, but such cars often do go through an MOT unnoticed as it takes an eagle eyed MOT inspector to spot that they're actually missing.
It's a potential insurance problem though, as it's an illegal mod and the whole point of side repeaters is to increase lateral visibility when turning. If you were to have an accident and an eagle eyed insurance inspector were to notice that your side repeaters had been removed, you could find yourself accused of contributing to the collision and face either a reduced settlement, or a completely void claim. You do of course have the option of declaring the modification to your insurer, so that you are covered, but then they really don't tend to be too keen on accepting illegal modifications.
In short you really need to get busy, with a very sharp drill bit, a hacksaw blade and a file, and cut yourself some holes for a pair of side repeaters. The lack of a fog lamp is also an issue and similarly shouldn't pass an MOT, but it's less of an immediate issue than the absence of side repeaters, that is unless you intend on driving anywhere in the fog any time soon!

E.g. we have LED repeaters stuck to the doors just below the mirrors. No holes required as the cable runs under the mirror base then into the door then to behind the dash. Does the job and passed the MoT couple of weeks ago.

If you dont want to cut your wings for repeaters, our previous owner obviously couldn't be bothered, there are other options.
Yeah good point, you do after all just need side repeaters on a post 86 car, not necessarily the standard one's that require butchery of your wings. If you use non standard/ aftermarket side repeaters, you will need to advise your insurance company of the modification though obviously.
