One of my friends from my local club had an accident on the way back in France, he was hit by a Mercedes 
Everyone is Ok thats the main thing.

Oh dear. I'm glad to hear that everyone is ok.
Thats the main thing. Car's can be replaced or repaired.
It sure did a number on the poor mini though!

So what's the deal with the car now, will it be scrapped/written off and stay in France, or is the owner going to try and salvage it and recover it back to the UK?

Poor James that was a really nice car. Hopefully his insurer will be able to recover it back to the UK.

That's so sad, glad everyone was ok,! that's the main thing! Cars can be fixed, or new ones bought
Mercedes drivers are the worst IMO, the amount if times i've nearly had them crash into me......

Glad everyone is okay. What a sad end to what would have been a great trip, lovely looking car. Looks like it had a load of work done to it and was obviously cherished.
by the way I don't think Merc drivers have collectively better or worse skills - and yes I drive a Merc (before that a Volvo, Audi, BMW, Volkwagen and so not sure what you drive is relevant)

Its on the way back to be repaired he was waiting to see if the insurance company will recover it.
