Tryed taking the sim card out? & putting it back in?
Maybe a problem with your network?

If this does not solve your problem then it is a Hardware issue, most likely the antenna.

It might just be the signal in the area, sometimes my phone loses signal for a few hours in a certain place and then it comes back. Leave it over night and see what happens.

my phone goes funny when it looses 3g and network, goes into searching mode for ever, leave it switched off for a while.
have you installed any new software today?
are you sure its the phone and not the network.

Its a 4S, I havent installed anything and normally my signal is fine, ill leave it a day or 2 as the network could just be down i guess

Have you recently installed the latest update? iOS 6.3.1 or something I believe. Updates can unsettle things for a while.
