VIC is only to make sure it's the same vehicle, nothing to do with parts used for repair or the quality of the repair.

 

  But if it's largely built with used parts they consider it not to be the original vehicle.  As you say though it is simply to determine identity, I didn't mean it was anything to do with how well it's been done.  That's why it can be sensible to get an engineer's report too.
