Hi, 1st post on the forum.

Last night I went to see a 1962 Austin Mini 850 van, and now its parked on my drive :)

Not entirely new to Minis - owned a 1986 Mini Mayfair when I was younger, my brother had a Mini Neon and now has a Mini Sprite.

Its a bit of a rot-box currently but its an early Mk1 with an MOT and a smooth roof :)   I've always been keen on adding a Mk1 Mini to my car collection.

Will be undergoing a full restoration next year after the current MOT expires, till then I plan to give it a service, patch various "urgent" bits up here and there, and enjoy it during the summer.

cheers

Derek

Hi, welcome to TMF. Sounds good, it doesn't happen to be painted in primer with yellow paint underneath, with timber on the side? have you got any pictures?

No, only saw it on ebay. the starting bid was lowish and didn't have any bids for a while.

I bought it out of eBay and the seller ended the auction early.  I paid a little more than what it was worth to me really as it requires a lot more work than I wanted to take on, but I feel its got the roots a good restoration project.
