i RECENTLY PURCHASED SOME STEEL DRIVESHAFTS, FOR COMPETITION USE. mY CURRENT DRIVESHAFTS ARE THE ONES WITH BALL BEARINGS IN A CUP TYPE THING. i THINK MAYBE THIS IS CALLED A POT JOINT TYPE?
ANYWAY, ON MY CROSS PIN DIFF, I SEE 2 GROOVED PIECES OF METAL COMING OUT FROM THE DIFF CASING, AND I NOTICE THAT THESE ARE GROOVED THE SAME AS THE DRIVESHAFT END. iM JUST WONDERING WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE NEW DRIVESHAFTS, DO I PULL OUT THE STUBBY PIECES FROM THE DIFF, AND FIT THESE DRIVESAFTS IN? iS THE NEW DRIVESHAFTS TO TAKE THE PLACE OF THE CUP PIECES?
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED?
THANKS

Remove the pot joint from your old driveshafts and gearbox and fit them to your new gearbox and driveshafts.
Incidently which competition shafts do you have as there are different types for different type joints, do you have the right ones?

Drain your oil before removing them from the gearbox.

Can you convert pot joints to hardy spicer joints?
Would there be an advantage in dong this?
