Water wetter does help.

What about the water pump and it's pulley? There are different water pumps and things you can do to stop them churning up the water (one thing that water wetter does), see http://www.minispare...mps/GWP134.aspx

definately run a heater matrix as a second radiator.

I've always run with the standard rad, and with a matrix plumbed in aswell I haven't had any problems for years. I kept the thermostat too, and made sure it was warm before the start of the race.

thanks Sam; sure I had a couple somewhere but can't find them so will try and get one off the banger boys

many thanks; worth a punt. First step is to whip the head off tonight and look at the bores, to see if I have glazed or scored.

If you get the whole assembly balanced (pistons and rod weight balanced + crank, fly and cluth, pully harmonically balanced) then engine will last longer at high revs

By the time you're at 6k rpm for most of the race i'd evaluate the option, a properly balanced engine will also make you gain something, every little helps in racing.

thanks Jaydee. One of the bores was worn do binned that block and fitted a spare one, but that's knocking it's bits off at the bottom end so going to take my time and build a decent one.

cheers
