Was wandering if any og you guys could help me

The situation I have is I have a mint condition shell but it has no log book and was wandering if there is any way of contacting the dvla and getting an age related log book or even a new one not really bothered as the car would be on the road

Just need to know if it can be done or I'm wasting my time

Cheers

Tried the chassis number stamped in to the scuttle channel? providing its still the original scuttle and hasn't been replaced or course.

Is this from the black mini off eBay that went for £500? Just curious, was gonna get it myself but decided no logbook wasn't worth the hassle.

As long as you are happy with the 'history' of your shell and nothing is dodgy about its past read on.......

Many Mini owners have scrapped their own rusty or damaged Mini's over the years but have retained the V5 for future use perhaps with a new Heritage shell......not that difficult to find a spare one for sale cheaply for a Mk4 if you ask around discretely (and you can HPI check to confirm its history/not stolen/write off, etc) this is by far the simplest way......not strictly to the letter of DVLA rules but if you don't advertise the fact on internet forums no one will know or care.......Minimail can make you up the chassis/vin plates with proof of ownership via photocopy of V5 with your details on.

a mini with no V5 or identity sounds very dodgy

the main reasons for loosing all of the above is because the car has been stolen in the past

i wouldn't touch it and anyone that does just fuels minis being stolen

the only legal way to get this back on the road is a vehicle inspection and a Q plate

If you wish to use this car on the road, if you have no VIN plates or log book, you will need to get it inspected and tested and get it put on Q plates. It will essentially then be a kit car with no known age.

But you don't have a brand new heritage shell though do you? Besides, where can you buy a brand new A-series engine from? Or would a reconditioned/ remanufactured item be sufficient?

Recon engine is ok, everything else has to be new
