There no substitute for experience.

I've never had a photography lesson or been on a course, I've just clicked and clicked and clicked. The best thing to do is just experiment with settings to find what works.

 

If shooting at Brands I like walking over the bridge at Druids and shooting from inside the track. There are plenty of places to shoot from and last year there were no high fences getting in the way.
