Hi, I am coming to the end of my full mini restoration now and I just left with the arches for the exterior

My mini is flame red with a white roof and I've hot fibreglass group 2 arches. With red minis the arches are usually either red or black but I am thinking of going for white

Has anyone got a picture of a red mini with white roof and white arches please? It's surprising hard to find so I'm guessing not many people do it?

Cheers

I have seen a few and honestly they look better in red or black, for some reason white arches on minis that aren't white look unfinished for some reason.

Thanks for that, the 1 mini with them there is pretty much how mine will hopefully look. I think it looks brilliant! :)

Thanks for the reassurance Mk1Monster, I'm a lot happier now. I always thought it would look nice but I'm amazed that hardly anyone has got the white roof and white arces on a flame red mini??

The fact it's not so popular is actually a good thing I think. Cheers

I suppose it's all down to preference Pete?

I can always spray them flame red if I feel that way but I think I'll like white

My arches are brown =)

I think the trick is about balance. You usually want a car to look planted and substantial, you want the light colors on top and the heavier darker colors on the bottom.

White arches will look cartoon like, go for it if that's your thing.

Black arches will make your wheels look bigger, adding to the stance look.

body color will be neutral of course.

I personally don't like white arches, for some reason it makes the car look tacky (much like a chrome overload would, or angel eye lights)

Here's my Flame Red with group 2 black arches, looks pretty nice in black in my opinion. White arches are a nice change from the ordinary though! I can only beg your forgiveness for the Instagram, only photo I could find..ybPRf0y.jpg

I think white arches look tacky and make the car look unfinished. Black or colour coded look best.

When I first got Oliver, it was a red mini cooper with a white roof, white stripes, white mirrors and chrome arches. And white wheels.

I can see why it would have a certain appeal. Looking back, it doesn't look too bad but I its not really my thing overall. Its being rebuilt and I am stuck between original and standard or colour coded arches and a few cosmetic mods.

Here is a pic of it. That was back in 2008. The arches came off straight away.
