Hey everyone - just some head scratching here before i get my 'box :)
Going for a k24a CL9 motor plus 6 speed box in my upcoming build. Ive got access to two boxes - a JDM EP3R or local accord CL9 6 speed box. Both have 4.764 FDs , slight differences in 2nd-6th but the EP3 has a LSD. My logic is the euro box as its cheaper so I can put that money saved into a decent LSD.
Anyway , entering details into http://www.teammfact...gear-calculator with the original gears and OEM tyre size of 225/45/17 vs a theoretical 175/50/13 - i noticed there isnt such a drastic difference in top speed vs gear as I initially thought.
The question is - in real word experience is a new FD and countershaft warranted on a zcar / vtec setup ???
Also , is there any difference in the casing of a K24 gearbox vs other k20 gearboxes ?
