Yeah it is easily sorted though mate. Do you know anybody with a pump?

The GTi MPI's are wider than the R114 GTA/GSI 6 spokes so they do sit nicely. I think I'd space the rears out an inch on Rita but the fronts sit lovely.

And ohh yeah that's pretty. I saw an absolutely immaculate GTA on there a few days ago, was gorgeous.

That'd look smart on some Sportspack wheels.

Heres the white one that was for sale from the Metro Owners Club classifieds. I think it's sold

Never seen a white one of those before...there was a yellow one on eBay a while ago that looked good as well!!

Cradley-Heathen on here pumped mine up for me

I'm not a fan of the Gti Mpi wheels on the 100s

I can't decide what I want to do with it yet..

im pretty sure that all metro alloys (well 13" ones anyway) are 5.5 wide, its only the width of tyre that varies. my mk1 turbos are 5.5, as are the mk2 cross spokes. i fitted 185-55 13 tyres to some 114gti alloys and it looked great.

chance, individualising the suspension units wont effect the quality of the ride, mk1 metros have individualised fronts from the factory, and the rears are joined side to side. the ride is only effected by running higher or lower pressures in the units. altering the lengths of the trumpets obviously effects the ride height, its how you balance up the height with the pressure you want is the tricky bit to get right though.

But he's obviously indivdualising to lower the ride height since that's partly his complaint, hence it will be a harsher ride :P and whilst technically individualising doesnt effect the ride, the whole idea of inividualising, certainly on a Mk4 and for Chances intentions is to allow for a lower and stiffer ride, you could invidiualise and then leave the trumpets the same height, but what would be the point?

See I have no understanding of why they are joined front to rear?

I did read that the early ones were connected rear to rear only

I think I may ask you to Individualise it for me? ;)
And lower it slightly while you are there :)

I like how yours sits...very very nice

All I want is to make it roll less and just generally stiffen it up and stop it standing on its toes when I brake slightly hard and dragging its are when I accelerate slightly hard :)

And yeah I should have said I meant tyres, I think pretty much all Metro alloys are 5.5 with the exception of a select few but when you consider that the 114 6 spokes had 155-65-13 budget tyres and the GTI wheels have 185-60-13 pirellis the difference is quite a lot :D

Did you have the 114 wheels on your Mk1 Cradley? or have you had a later Metro too?

Not sure I posted this, a mass of parts that arrived for Rita whilst I was at Simons for a week :P

i see what you mean, but as chance asked if individualising made the ride any worse that was why i felt i should point out that individualising wont hurt the ride quality. but yes you are right, obviously stiffeneing the suspension will.....well obviously make it stiffer lol, so yes that does affect the ride.

i think unless you go really mental with the pressures it wont be uncomfortable. if you want i can take you for a spin in mine CHANCE and see how you think it feels?

as regards the 114 alloys i had with the wider tyres fitted, they were on an identical red 114gti to the one CHANCE has, although i have considered changing the rear hubs and adapting the front to a different pcd so i could fit later alloys, or maybe adapt all 4 hubs to something more common to open up the possibilities for aftermarket wheels.

there is no difference fitted 185s to any of the metro alloys (although it might be hard getting them to seal on the 12" mg pepperpots? lol) a friend of mine has a rover metro gta that has steel wheels and those rare factory wheel trims that look like alloys, and they had 185s fitted from the factory to those steels.

like these ones.....

I understand now..I just had it in my head that they were connected for comfort but I'm 20 I shouldn't care about anyway lol

Thanks for clearing that up and the offer for a ride in yours
I might take you up on it...would you fancy individualising and lowering mine..I'd be there to do the donkey work if you wouldn't mind? I'll be in touch soon for that anyway if your up for it

Was thinking about going for 14s if they pop up on eBay or anywhere but not 100% sure what I'm doing wheel wise :)

Also Cradley, I was never meaning to dispute your knowledge or argue it on hydragas and Metros. I think I know a little but nothing compared to many people like yourselves who have been into these cars for years!

MG-Rover spoiler caps brand new. Rare used let alone still in the packets. Pricey for bits of plastic though :P

$_58.JPG

Also found the seats I'll be using and they are Hyundai coupe black leather. They look awesome and are cheap for leather. I'll be getting a spare rear bench I have retrimmed in Rover 25 leather so that it matches, they're the least widest rear seats I can think of in black leather so won't need too much modification.

They are tight, but fit. Luckily she's a 5 door so that it's easier to get people in the back if need be.
