Good luck with the MOT Cliff.

Sad to hear you are selling this but i know what its like to have to part with things that you just can't justify keeping.

Cheers

Ben

Ooo i see your all blued up as a TMF trader now Ben, get you   haha

Yeah is sad but needs must, i'l be doing bits on it here and there till the day it sells so might still keep updating this thread till then.

Cheers,

Ha Ha! yeah, I refurbish, service, repair and sell laptops and accessories and have quite an overstock of older laptops at the moment so i thought i'd offer them around on here as they are not the latest machines so not worth me selling down the normal channels.

Must admit, im going to miss seeing the cueyyyyyy updates on here once its gone  :shy:

Ahh nice little PLug i led you into there Ben ;D  (you're welcome :shifty:  )

Yeah is going to be a gap on my updates but more time for the mk2 and Checkmate i guess (done abit on that B-post but not worth the effort of pictures yet)

No doubt i'l find something else project wise to fill the gap, i,ve been thinking of making an A-series block out of aliminium for a while now so "Watch this space)

THIS THREAD WILL NOT DIE A DEPRESING DEATH!!!!!

Seeing as im selling Cuey its become quite sadening yet im determined to keep up the happyness so i'l be doing work on him till the day he's sold! :)

So first things up, get that ugly spare wheel off and replace all the chrome trims and hubcaps after a good clean up by hand...

BEFORE:

DSCF2961_zps5ec655f1.jpg

AFTER:

DSCF2962_zps5b7327b9.jpg

As you can see it looks ten times better no i think but cuey's decided to litraly park its arse on the ground O_O

So....that needs sorting.

Also fitted the replacment bumper i bought for £30 as the other was bent due to the bump:

DSCF2964_zps58c0b81e.jpg

Next job is to strip and clean both front and rear bumpers and prime, paint in black, still un-decided on wheather to go shiney black or matte black, opinions ?

Cheers,

Cliff

I'm gald you are keeping it up. It looks ten times better in that second picture. Really does clean up a treat.

As for the bumpers. I say Matte black for sure as i think gloss can look a bit tacky. Cant wait to see them done.

I really hope it goes to someone who will look after it and finish it off well. I would have it if i wasn't so damn far away!!

Good luck

Ben

Ahh yeah is sad to see it up for sale so i'm keeping myself ocupied with it and doing something productive with him aswell at the same time.

Yeah thats how they came originaly so good plan, although the other bumper a painted to protect from rust looked quite good to be honest (few pages back i think) i,ve no idea haha bad with making decisions :(

Yeah definatly hoping a loving owner comes along Ben, and yeah about 600 miles plu a ferry is quite a way  , no doubt the A-series would make the journey with ease

Thanks Ben,

Cliff

(P.S. Deep down i hope no-one buys it Ahhhrg :s)

Hi Nath, sorry about not seeing your reply earlyer...

Yeah it's sad to see it up for slae/swaps but needs must i guess.....

Well yesterday i got some metro time finaly and needed to get re-furbing the rear bumper as its got some surface rust thats been growing recently so took it off and started cleaning it back to bare metal...

DSCF3178_zps0c3fe7d2.jpg

When i got this bumper i saw it was rusted on the inside but didn't have the itime to re-furb fully like im doing now so sprayed the inside rust with zinc primer to try my best and stop the rust spreading nad flaking off onto the metro..

DSCF3177_zps4ba5bd0f.jpg

Finally after a 10-15 minute struggle i got the fog lights and reg lights un-screwed!

Inside

Outside

DSCF3184_zps880201f4.jpg

There are various areas of corrosion, namely the surface ares aroudn and under brakets, so i'm going to remove the brackets and re-make out of 2mm sheet steel and spot weld back in at a later date...

Until thats done this is how the metros staying..

No still here! :) , finally with some hard work i managed to get myself some free time to get stuff done, the bumpers in the house now warming up as it was ruddy freezing when i stripped it.

Hope for more updates haha
