You have probably answered this question in a previous thread but im gonna ask it anyway.
Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a Citroen Saxo 1.6 VTR engine into a Mini Mayfair's engine bay.
the only reason i ask about the engine bay is that im adamant that i do not want to take out the back seats for an engine install. if it is possible does it require the front hinged bonnet (whole front of car opening) or can i get away with the normal bonnet.
Please help because at the moment the car is wasting away in my garage an this would mean i can really upset the Basildon Chav Population.

Quick question for you 16vmini, how much difference is there fitting the se and the K series? is one easier/ cheaper than the other?

The VTR engine isnt really that good
Well of course it isnt! It's a Citroen engine .
All they're good for is burning a lot of extra petrol you might have lying around that needs to be got rid of really inefficiently.

k-series would use the k-series subframe (i can supply a watson frame with all parts , but allows fitment to a mini) this would then need a clubman front , or a extended round nose.
the se fits in a std front end , and runs on a allspeed frames , have these frames in stock
price wise got to be close to the same. maybe k a little less as you can use the std metro shafts etc.

Would I also be right in saying you can usually pick up a K series engine/donor car cheaper than you can the Vaux? And that wiring it in is slightly easier?
as allways its how hard you look , i have seen a few complete astras go for 100 quid on ebay , so you really can't ask for much less .. on average i guess the k will be cheaper to get hold of .. but when you are buying a car for 100-200 quid .. its allready fairly cheap.
From what i have read the vauxh is easier to wire up , as it has a separate engine loom, and you only have to connect up 3-4 wire to get the engine to start .. very simple ... k-series is a little more work.
