Back to the same issue...

So, I had a mechanic take a look at the car...seems he is having the same issue and is thinking the primary gear is not moving far enough and said the primary gear needs to be removed and the thrust bearing replaced...here is what is happing:

Car starts with the clutch in, but when in netural it stalls...when putting it in gear and to take off, stalls again.  Because of the cost of labor on removing the primary gear, I would have to do it myself...the primary gear does move with the c-washer removed...thanks everyone!

Gents (and ladies)...I think I figured the issue out...I was looking at the 1275 I have in my garage and was putting the primary gear on to see how much movement is in it...the thrust washer would not fit because of the step on the crank...I am thinking I put the 1275 washer on the 998 causing the binding...Now I just have to rip the primary gear back out to check it out...must find a puller!! lol

If anyone can think of what else the issue may be, please let me know!!
