I lost count how many times over the years they have told me I needed pads and shocks on cars I took in. We used to drop off customer cars to them for tyres after we had done repairs as we did not have a tyre machine. It happened every time they got a new guy in that did not know us.
I understand they have to make a living but it reflects badly on honest garages as well.

Watching it too. Only last week I went to them to get my tyres replaced and when I tried to drive it out the garage, my handbrake (electronic! ) was no longer working and wouldn't release. When I pulled the guys over to ask them, they ran round like chickens and after 10 mins of them trying to release it by revving my engine and trying to drive it away (because my word wasn't good enough apparently) they proceeded to ring my garage to ask what to do.

kwik fit aren't the only ones, but most of the fast-fit 'garages' are only interested in sales and a quick profit.
There's also an independent fast fit /kwik fit style garage called fast fit station, quoting good old fashioned service. From the 2 days I did as a 'work trial' when they also happened to be short of staff I could fill a book with the stuff that went on. But safe to say after 2 days of being spoken/treated like **** from a manager with a background in sales and had never picked up a spanner in his life, I told him where he could stick it.

This is why I do all the work on all our cars myself. The only time any of the cars go into a garage is for an MoT. It's the only way to ensure your car's being worked on properly... and you don't get ripped off.

Our garage is honest to our customers, and we'll happily show them our findings on services and be honest about the severity of the problem
