I disagree with the whole turbo lag thing. iv rebuilt a lot of turbo, supercharged and supercharged/turbo engines being a diesel mechanic and from personal experience you can match any engine with a decent turbo so its always spooling and still build decent boost. you jest have to research specs for compressor and for the turbine. I would pick a turbo over supercharger any day. but that's just my opinion

Hi, learning a lot from this thread, I'm also a novice when it comes to Mini's and all other cars for that matter.
Would it be possible for you to post or PM me a complete list of everything you had to get ? I'm currently working on my mini city 998, still very early days for me but it would be very handy to have the complete list to keep ahold of encase I go down the turbo route in the future.
Thanks.

Well I'm due to start sorting the body work out on mine after new year, few panels need welding then everything freshened up ! My plan is to get the starndard engine in and run in for a bit of experience/practice with it then maybe turbo it in the future. You'll have to let me know your results !

After purchasing a recommended dvd named 'ultimate mini builder 1380 a-series' I have stripped my engine and ordered my pistons... There've arrived and say omega 1015 +.020 10cc ( are these right for a 1293?

Will take photos of rebuild and detail what I'm using etc :D

Thanks
