The freeflow is a bit better for 998s, the Lcb a bit better for 1275s, but in the real world is it worth changing if you have one already, no probably not.

I like how it took an extra 20 posts to come to the same conclusion I said in the second post.

Just as I have on a 998 with stage 1 kit, a 295, mg cam, there was a definite improvement when replacing the short lcb with a medium bore item........
Can you enlighten our members what a stage 1 kit, 295,mg cam is ?

What you have to remember is lots of people here do not know what a stage 1 is nor a 295? but most likely a Mg Cam, its just you can learn something from a post if you don't know if its explained.

Dilligaf, yes the Cooper Freeflow is an LCB type design of course, but EVERYBODY calls it the Freeflow. Calling it a short LCB will just cause confusion, because you can't buy it under that name anywhere and nobody else uses it. It is a technically different design too because the different relative header lengths change the timing of when the pulses are introduced to each other in the exhaust system as you know. This difference in timing effects the gas speed at the ports which is why it works better than a regular LCB for the majority of small bore engine specs.
This question was properly answered right at the start.
