Pretty normal to be honest, was gonna de-grille it though if i did the matt finish. Will have Hi-lo's wound fully down possibly de-bumpered. It does have chrome sleepy eyes, mirrors, bumpers etc etc.

oh, and its a roundnose

Hmm.. so lot's of shiny chrome parts.. it may look pretty cool custom when painted in matt black :( ... by the way. how about wheels, what u are going to use? 10" chrome wheels would look ace i think :(

Nice one . It'll look even better with starmags, although those matt black wheels give a distinct rat look :( by the way. How stiff suspension u got there? I can't see much clearense between front tire and wheel arch :(

hi guys

i am thinking of going for a black satin finish with rattle cans on top of and averagely painted 2pack black basecoat. How many cans will i need to get or is it not worth doing at all. I have the facility to remove the doors etc and a nice big warm garage to do it all in so i couldnt see a problem but u guys might.

Any hints or tips are welcomed

ted

did mine on me drive with a mate. used up 6 of the big cans of halfords matt black, 600ml ish are they? it was 3 for 2 anyway so only cost me £24 in all

took us about 2hrs start to finish, we just flatted the existing paint back with a brillo pad then wiped it over and sprayed a side each. The roof was the hardest part to try and get a decent finish on.

I didn't notice anything major, I even gave it a tap with my white stick :P

but then again I was too busy lookin through yer bonnet vents trying to see 'what lies beneath'

I am just thinking about doing exactly the same style of paint job on an old 1275GT I have spotted! :P

matt black looks well cool
mate of mine brillo paded his black mk2 golf to give it a rat look
it did however have a 2.9ltr vr6 with shrik inlet manifold and cams, he tottaly removed the interior carpet/headlining the works and it was the best rat look racer for embarassing people at the lights and york drag strip.

with the aid of photoshop suspension :P

i think thats the one i was playing around with before anyway.

The car is really low at the minute, sumps about 2" from the floor. but the flip front i've got is 2nd hand and the arches had been cut massively so it looks like an off-roader normally.
