Argh. Stupid mistake - got tall and short rocker pedestal studs the wrong way round when refitting my cylinder head just now. I'd got everything torqued down before spotting my dumb mistake so to remove and swap round the pedestal studs I tried double nutting them. All I've managed to do though is strip the thread on one of the shorter pedestal studs and both the nuts I was using.
Any suggestions on removing the stud? I'd it as simple as re-tapping the stud and using two more nuts? Is going to be bag easier to remove the rockers again?

You can buy a stud extraction tool which the more you tighten the more it bites onto the stud I know Halfords used to sell them. The stud will be wrecked but I guess it is anyway. I had one stuck last week and managed a bit of heat with mole grips again thread wrecked but stud came out.
