As the topic title says, has anyone got either of the above seats fitted ?
They are in fact the same , the Historic is in vinyl .
Merlin Motorsport say they will fit fine , which I do not doubt .
I have a mk1 , I want to fit a bolt in Safety Devices cage and a new seat .
My current old non Fia steel framed Corbeau is just about touching the 'b' post and this is not ideal with a roll cage and my wish to participate in more track days and possibly sprinting .
Obviously the seat needs to be mounted in the right position within rollcage and mounted to the floor properly .
I take it the weld-in bars between tunnel and sill are ideal for seat mounting , they seem a universal product, not Mini specific . Do they weld to the floor as well as the tunnel/sill and do they still allow the seat to sit nice and low or would custom made box section welded to floor/tunnel/sill or weld-in mounting bars Jon Betts produces for Mini be the way to go .
Looking at the dimensions for the seats against other Cobra versions they are narrower and ideal for the Mini .
Remember mk1s have the door bins .
