Have you changed the air filter? I had a cone filter on mine and was sucking in to much air which then made it bog down.

You can never have too much air, rather not enough fuel to go with the air that you do have.

It had to much air then! You could hear the air being sucked in, I added some tape over the filter which then cured the problem. I now have a standard air filter with a few holes, which makes the car run alot better.

The air is supposed to get sucked in....that's why you or someone purchased a low restriction filter...

As for taping up holes that's not really a solution......it's about the same as pulling the choke out a bit (in fact that would have been better on an SU than taping up the airfilter).

Take the analogy like this....next time you bog blocks up....it's not really blocked....just too much water in the flush... :-)

Not as much as it did, It had a cone filter from the stage one kit on it, it had a AAV needle in it, Which was useless. Take the analogy like this, As much use as a fart in a thunderstorm. :-)

We changed the needle to an AAU, this made the car run alot better after we set it up, but still bogged down due the amount of air being sucked in. We then stuck some tape on part of the cone filter which stopped the booging down and you could not hear the air being sucked in. We have now fitted a standard air filter and housing with a 2 20mm holes in which allows enough air in but not too much that it bogs down. We can easily get to 70mph and the car runs fine.       ( :closed:)

sorry for cluttering up your thread herdy

Don't worry about it, I think I've solved it, I replaced the rest of the gaskets and made it a bit richer, seems to have solved it :) thanks everyone.
