Buying 52 plate cooper s and gear selection seems vague andstiff to find

But if it helps, the gearchange on the R53 Cooper S is always stiff. It's a very strong Getrag gearbox but not the most satisfying to use, they always feel a bit notchy.
My 2005 S and all the R53s I test drove felt the same. I wouldn't describe it as 'vague' though.
