This is shocking to hear because my insurance is with them and on direct debt

I agree with everyone else, they should of informed you by writing X amount days before doing so which is I believe is in the small print/ T&C's on their policies...you need to put in writing your complaint (preferably with copies of your bank statements as proof, I stress copies because the amount of times I have sent documents for them to not "receive" them) and send it recorded delivery.

I always thought baliffs only get involved after X amount of months not paying, after numerous warnings, failure to pay warnings etc. They should of emailed/wrote to you asking you to contact them and to rectify the issue before it came to this. I think you are entitled to know why they cancelled your policy but considering they took the money and then replaced it and then say you haven't paid, sounds like fraudulent behaviour to extort more money from you. Most companies who for whatever reason fail to take my direct debit, they are usually pretty good to take the owed payment and nothing goes further so for them to set the bailiffs on you, I find some what heavy handed over something so simple.

Adrian Flux are the worst broker on the planet. Do not use them and tell anyone you know to avoid them.

Theres nothing wrong with adrian flux, absolutely fine for me. Youre going to get problems with any insurer at some point.

Only problem I have had is on the valuation of my car. Apparently because its a highly modified Mayfair they don't know how to value it, so capped it at £4500. Despite the engine build at the time being £2500 and a full resto!!

Get a valuation done by the British Mini Club, most insurance companies accept it as proof.

Adrian flux really let me down.

I had extra legal cover paid for but when I tried to get help after an accident they did all they could to avoid helping.

I too have had insurance cancelled in the past and I paid up £100% in advance! The said I had not filled in extra paperwork... I had filled in a modified vehicle report form and had confirmation fro them that they had received it.

The cancellation was put through for not receiving the modded form and I was charged £300+ for the trouble. When I would call them up to find what had happened I would be put on the magic roundabout because I was not a customer??

Long story short they left me with no money for that month to live off (taken direct from bank) and no insurance.

I eventually got the money back but lost 3/4 of that year I was trying to add an extra year of no claims to.

AF were the broker for Trinity Lane. Trinity lane staff were rude and I made a complaint when the service manager told me I was 'pi**ing her off'. Funnily enough the recorded conversation wasn't available to send through an external complaints system.

Avoid them at all costs. Herts insurance is a sister company of Adrian flux.

Cheap for a reason folks....

Oh dear, I think they are my mini insurer!! They said I didnt have a garage too, so sent them a snip of the google maps aerial photo - oh look its attached to my house! They wanted photos of the car and also parked in garage. To be fair though, so far they have been fine with everything else including engine change etc.

Damn, this is all a little disconcerting. I have just renewed my insurance with them for the 2nd year running. Fortunately I had a clean slate last year and did not have to claim at all so didn't have any issues.

I didn't think 'you get what you pay for' applied to car insurance companies! They gave me a pretty awesome price, i have 4 years no claims, im 24 years old, had my license for 6 years (7 in august) major mods are; C14SE engine conversion, clubman front end fitted with a few other bits and pieces for just over £350. Hmmm I bet that will sting me in the ass if I was to crash.

I hope I do not encounter the issues some of you chaps have had. But I guess a lot of the time, people are more willing to write up a negative review rather than a positive.

Hmmm...when I read a lot of these stories I always wonder just how much of the story has been omitted.

Cancelling policies - failed DD's etc..... I'm willing to guess that that some of these mysteries are caused by the bank bouncing the DD, not the Insurers.

Loads of people moaned about direct line - but I couldn't fault them - I wrote off a merc, they didn't question the claim, they even asked if I was sure about not climing for personal injuries and they paid out in under a week - the assessor also was fair regarding the value and upped it a bit.

Have to say from the perspective of someone who just needs to be insured on the govt database & doesn't plan on claiming (though who does?!) AF were fantastic today. Just over £500 for everything covered fully modded including european fully comp insurance and driving other cars.
