hi took the mini out for a spin yesterday. all was fine then 5 mins down the road it stops. turn the ignition and straight away i hear that the fuel pump isnt going. check fuses and all is fine. push it home. check that there is a current to the pump. there is. small current without ignition and then it jumps up with ignition on as it should i guess.

So its defo the pump thats buggerd?

is it spi or mpi tank i need for turbo?

anyone have one?

just a straight swap? pressure and such like will be the same due to regulator?

Thanks in advance!

I gotta say I'm not sure of the differences between the two. judging by the price of the pumps on minispares, It'd probably be cheaper to whack a facet pump on there somehow. Have a read through the turbo section, I'm relatively sure it's been mentioned before.

All depends what boost you are running.

The MPI pump is a higher pressure than the SPI. Use the SPI pump up to 15psi boost and then the MPI up to 20psi boost but the SPi can cope to a degree.

MPi SPi physical tank is the the same, mountings, senders wiring all the same its only the pump thats different, hence the different part numpers.

With the regulator there sould be no need to adjust it if its set right in the first place, but well worth a check to be sure.

Yes the pump will actualy get quite a bit noisier, but, at least on the injection cars the engine still runs but when you press the accelerator the engine hesitates and stalls
