Hi all
My car needs a lot of welding and eventually respray so I intend to strip car back to shell.
Is there any particular order that is best to do this or is it owners choice.
Leaving subframes on if that makes a difference but will be taking engine out
Also if anyone has any advice what to be looking for during strip
Thanks
Steve

If the car needs a lot of welding then I would remove everything off the shell and put it on a roll over jig, makes things a lot easier, I made my own so it needn't cost a lot to do

Thanks. I intend to take everything out but just wondered if there was a faster sequence to stripping it all. ie engine first, then electrics etc
I won't be doing the welding since I can't weld so hoping to keep costs down by stripping it all ready first

When I stripped mine I removed interior and exterior trim, then all electrics and loom. Then I dropped the subframes Infact the engine is still on the subframe waiting until I get around to it.

When I stripped the Midas the interior came out first, then the engine bay was done, then the glass, followed by the fuel tank and the rear beam and finally the front subframe. All the other little bits were taken off in no particular order.

I do it the same way as Daz. Remember LABEL, LABEL, LABEL, I suggest you use baggies and tape and label what it is otherwise you'll find random nuts and bolts and not know where they go.

And tons of pictures as you tear down to assist in the rebuild. I did a Triumph Tiger motorcycle engine replacement and saved me a ton of research having the photos right there to look at. Take close ups then far off ones to give perspective on everything. Believe me it's a big help.
