hey  guys, im at a wits end.

1981 mini Hl 998cc stage 1 kit fitted.

not so long ago fitted Powerspark, electrical ignition. first one failed, sent me a new one which started the car (BRILLIANT) then 1 day after the car had no spark again.

After trying another electronic ignition kit and that failing i gave up.

yesterday i installed a standard contact set and condensor with my lucas gold new coil.

After playing about the car started several times, (Brilliant)

Then today went to start it, no joy, then smoke appeared from the distributer. Turns out the lead from the contacts to the coil burnt and also the wires to the contacts and condensor melted, also a fuse went.

What could be the reason for this, any help or guidance would be very appreciated,, im going to the Mini show in Staffordhsire tomorrow so hoping to pick up a new set of contacts and hopefully try again!

thanks in advance guys
