Cant wait to get stuck in. any tips on squeezing one of these welded up race frames into the tight space?

Quite an interesting update today..

Some will like my inovation, some will think im stupid! But hey, lifting and lowering the shell like we did seemed to work perfectly! Nothing was bent out of line or warped.. happy days.

Got to play around with some alignment issues on the front subframe where it bolts to the front of the race frame, then I can start making all my other alignment checks and get the frame bolted down! I suppose i could go on for ages about what Ive got to do next... but today was surprisingly easy really. I had to do a little bit of angle grinding on the shell (not the cage dont worry) but other than that just a couple of tiny scratches she seems to sit nicely.

Im having to re-think the mini miglia carbon arches I have as well, so any suggestions for new arches could come in handy. Tomorrow I might have a go at welding in the seat frames.

Hi George

I just read the whole thread and Facebook page; great work its coming along nicely. I love what you are doing.

I am looking for my next project and was wondering what is a reasonable budget for a build like this?

Jason

Hi Jason, thanks for the compliments... it is certainly a challenge but a good one at that. There is nothing better than getting stuck into a project like this in my opinion! I dont really like to talk about money and how much it all costs because quite frankly, it costs so much that it makes me question why im even doing it in the first place! So i try not to think about the cost, and instead how much im enjoying it and what im getting from the build.

To give you a rough idea, you could buy a brand new bmw cooper s off the shelf.

I stopped counting what my RSP cost me after the first few years. I budget £10,000 for my projects so a Minibusa may not be viable
