Just panel wipe will be perfect. Used to clean panels prior to paint. Do not use thinners. If you have cellulose paint it will make a mess of it! Go to the full post

I need to remove the polish and wax on my Mini from a small area on the boot to stick a self adhesive badge on. I was just wondering what people think is the best way of doing this to ensure the badge sticks properly. I'd appreciate hearing your experiences with this and what you have used to remove it completely from the paint.

Thanks.

Spraying wax won't get rid of wax, use some tar remover then clay the area, that should strip any wax ensuring that the badge adheres to the surface as well as possible

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I think I'll go with the panel wipes, but I only want basic cheap ones, like the ones below:

Do you think these would do the job properly? Just want to make sure I'm not wasting my time with something that won't work.

Thanks again for the advice.
