I have no problem with the k series either, i just think the earlier metros look better than the rover metro/100.
You dont get much for £200 these days so it looks like a good buy

That was the main thing, I had been looking for a while for something cheap and local. For that sort of money most stuff was stripped 'projects'. I think it is probably quite a rare car now.

The K-Series has been in everything from your Metro 1.1c which doesnt even come with two wing mirrors right up to some of Britains most successful endurance and touring cars :-)

It's a great engine and those that slate it have more likely never owned one, or bought an unmaintained Rover (Most, I think.); done 5k and had head gasket, got it fixed on the cheap with a warped head and repeated until they decide that the K-Series is a useless engine and thus they must share their hatred for it worldwide :P Like all engines it has its downfalls, the headgasket problem more likely than others it has to be said, but I've known them go on and on without a problem. Look after them and they'll serve you well, like anything old and mechanical.

I went to look at it tonight and it looks really tidy. Inside is mint. It is being dropped off Monday so will get some pics up.

Still forgot to take any pics, Doh! Outside is tidy but a few minor bits. Inside is immaculate. Started it up today, it went first click. It is seriously LOUD with no exhaust (well there is a rusty back box but it isn't attached to anything). I measured it at 93dB!!!! Drives lovely round the car park.
