That was the main thing, I had been looking for a while for something cheap and local. For that sort of money most stuff was stripped 'projects'. I think it is probably quite a rare car now.I have no problem with the k series either, i just think the earlier metros look better than the rover metro/100.
You dont get much for £200 these days so it looks like a good buy

The K-Series has been in everything from your Metro 1.1c which doesnt even come with two wing mirrors right up to some of Britains most successful endurance and touring cars
It's a great engine and those that slate it have more likely never owned one, or bought an unmaintained Rover (Most, I think.); done 5k and had head gasket, got it fixed on the cheap with a warped head and repeated until they decide that the K-Series is a useless engine and thus they must share their hatred for it worldwide Like all engines it has its downfalls, the headgasket problem more likely than others it has to be said, but I've known them go on and on without a problem. Look after them and they'll serve you well, like anything old and mechanical.
