Hey guys,

Need to change my manifold gasket and the nuts are a right PITA to get at as you'll know.

I've already got the long brass verisons to make the job easier:

But they're still a real pain to get at with the minispares alloy inlet i've got.

I'm sure on my old 998, I got some extra long brass manifold nuts which were around 2.5-3" long and made access easy - But I cannot find them anywhere!

Do they exist anymore? Did they ever exist or am I just tripping?

if you can get a 3" bolt in there, why can you not use a 3" extension and socket?

There is no room to get a socket around the nut because the inlet is in the way, you can only use a spanner on them.

The longer nuts i'm sure i've seen before let you access them with a spanner, with enough room to turn the spanner. The problem with the 1" nuts i've got now is you can get a spanner on them from behind and I end up undoing them about an 8th of an turn at a time.

Its not the end of the world, but some longer nuts would make it much easier

Put a 3" bolt with a nut on and then screw in onto the brass nut then lock the other nut to the brass nut then use this to reach behind the inlet manifold once tight hold the brass nut with a spanner between head and manifold then uncrack the bolt......works well for me..... :proud:
