My boot seal is currently the type that fits on the lid, and its terrible, it dosnt seal at all in both top corners so leaks like a sieve! Its a rubbish design, I never had any boot leaks on my old '91 with the body type seal. So can I simply swap the seals? Will the body seal fit on a shell built with the lid seal? Cheers!

yes you can but you will somehow need to fill the holes around boot lid..............
