Pintos, an atrocious engine which was fitted to some of the best cars Ford made, and was made for over 30 years. Which is also the basis for the best turbo engine Ford made, but yep, it's a POS.

to be honest I'm probs just go with what ever engine I an get my hands on for free haha. Someone will have an old pinto laying around they want to swap for a few bottle of beer. I am a cheap skate you see.

Duratec for keeping it light, agile and in the family or Saab Turbo for 450bhp on standard internals. I'm not helping, I'm just throwing engines at you like everyone else.

 

I have a spare bootlid for one of these, mainly solid with a few pinholes around the lip. If you come down to SMD (next year now I guess) throw me £5 and it's yours. I'm only 5 mins away.

I would like to keep it as a ford lump I think. Unless there is another engine that fits in easy as pie that I get given for free haha. Cheers for the boot. I'm going to the IMM next year. That will be handy for when I inevitably spin it and hit something backwards haha

Over in New Zealand we have a car called a Ford Falcon XR6 turbo. Engine is an inline 6 4 litre with a huge turbo standard. I have this as my tow car making around 500hp. I would love to slot this and a matching six speed manual into an escort.
