Well it seems I'm not very good at doing things like the brakes. I've finally sorted the calipers. now onto the pesky master cylinder.
I'm busy refurbing it, having stripped it completely and finding no wear in the bores or on the piston. For this reason I purchased new rubber seals. I lubricated the bore and internal components, ready to be fitted. I placed the spring inside, with the main cup seal following it, the correct way around. This was followed by the seal washer and the piston (fitted with the secondary seal). I push everything in and then it all stops, the piston won't go further than the outer edge of the cylinder bore.
Have I done something wrong? Have I missed something? Or am I just being silly?
The master cylinder is the single circuit type with full base seal, if that helps?
