Just go to a good chromers and ask them to gold plate the manifold ;) will look better than ceramic coating and as per Mclaren F1 engine bay, it reflects heat very well, better still you could do the bulkhead in gold too :)

@ Artful Dodger
What wrapping have you tried ? I've had the same Thermotec wrapping on my manifold for about 6 years now & it's never come undone or crumbled at all.
I have seen the cheap stuff do what you describe, but a decent quality one will last for ages.

I too have seen the wrap stuff disintegrate, but obviously I'm not going to go out and blow 250£ for the hell of it hence the little bit off q&a

@turbophil - what brand are you using? How efficiently does it cool the bay temp and the manifold, could I post me a link please

I am tempted by the ceramic buts expensive, if a wrap would do the same thing then I would go cheaper, however I do like the idea of no wrap just a manifold lol

I'm using exhaust wrap on my 1293 supercharger engine, seems to be holding ok after a year, and keeps temps down ok.

I used www.jet-hot.com for my LCB they're located in the US but it was only $224 maybe around 140£. They do inside and out even with shipping you'd be under 200£

i thought the reason to wrap the exhaust was not to keep temps down at the inlet but to keep them up in the exhaust to speed up the exhaust exiting the car which helps suck in more fuel ???

The hotter you can keep the exhaust the higher you will keep the gas speed, but it will also keep underbonnet temps down to.
