As the title says I'm a noobie. Just drove it back from Birmingham to the southcoast. Previous owner has done a complete nut and bolt restoration but leaving me enough to do to put my mark on it. Must say I've been around long enough to know these cars from when they were first introduced in the late 50s but this is the first I've owned. Always wanted a white one with a black roof and now I've got one!

It's a 1992 Mayfair, originally 998cc but now 1275 and a bundle of fun, very direct and quite noisy. Do they all bounce or is my setup a little hard?

Hi and welcome to TMF. Nice car and yes they do seem harsh compared to modern cars. Have a look to see if you have adjustable shock absorbers fitted. They may need to be softened down.

Very nice! Originally from the south myself, grew up with lots of minis but seemed to be a demise in numbers around 2000.....everyone wanted cosworths etc.

Good to see a nice little number heading back South - hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the positive comments folks. I take the point about it not being a modern car and that is the whole point for me. However this was the first one I've driven in recent years and I don't remember bouncing quite so much in the past; perhaps the roads were better! I'm told the shocks are adjustable so it's time to investigate.

Hi fellow noobie. Car looks awesome love the colours.

Wish I could comment on the ride but I'm totally new to mini's and mine are in bits so never actually driven one...
