I was adjusting the contacts under the cap of the dizzy and was then adjusting the timing through rotation of the dizzy. The dizzy was then locked off with the plate (at least i thought it was), and when I went to turn the key, the dizzy popped out of its locating hole. Now I cant get the dizzy back in the hole, only goes so far in. Its as if the cog that it locates in has come out in a way, any ideas anyone?? Thanks

Not the dizzi shaft - the cam to dizzi shaft - in the block  - It can jam against the crank & cause mayhem

take a pic - don't turn the engine over

you can put a bolt in it to realign it

(or you may be fine , if dizzy goes in and  locates on the shaft)

fingers crossed  - as it can be a pig

have you tried turning the rotor arm 180 degrees, the slot is offset it only locates one way

Bump to the top.

Any updates on the dizzy drive gear position?
