I've got to admit I have a real soft spot for pepperpots. Maybe one day I'll find a good enough excuse to own a white seven with a red interior and white pepperpots - one of my dream combinations.
Thanks for posting the video.

^^ that would be good to see... mine isn't a seven though, but an earlier stock MPI, which is a pretty rare model as most people opted for a cooper at no extra cost. I have tweed seats like that in the video... to those not in the know it looks like a much older car than it actually is!

Also a stock mpi was a cooper! They only made coopers as mpis
No they didn't.

Pepper pot wheels on the BL line were fitted to the MG Metro. (Other Pepper pot named wheels are the Ford Fiesta ones).
Those are Rover Premium Alloys.
MG Metro Pepper pots.

And the premium alloy, premium alloys were offered in two colours if I remember correctly, OEW white (Specifically for the SE7EN) and also silver.

Mpis were all exactly the same format. Just the change of trim. All 1275s
You're correct that the engines are the same, just different trim levels.

They're Pepperpots in terms style, was aware of the Rover Premium Alloy thing but are we really all going to be sucked in by some (admittedly cr@p!) mid 90s Rover marketing description!?
Re. the MPI distinction, the key thing is that they all had exactly the same running gear unless you went to John Cooper direct for a works pack, which was meant to boost them to 90BHP but rarely did! Yes, you could buy a sportspack as a standard MPI, the Cooper was just a matter of badges, stripes, white roof and minilites. Have a handy link for this somewhere... will return when found...

Does yours simply say "mpi" on the v5?
Mine does. I assume that if you have a mini mpi seven it will say seven on the v5

Yup, just MPI... mine's from before the seven (97) :) They should have carried on the 'Mayfair' name or equivalent, would have made it a bit easier to understand!

Mine is just an "mpi" with the balmoral seat covers and I think pepper pots but was built in 2000
