Hi,

 

I might be paranoid, but it's better to be sure than drive around with a ticking (literally) bomb.

 

I'm trying to compare videos with others on YouTube, and from what I can see, this doesn't really seem to be the death rattle.. 

Could it be the valves, or do any of you have any idea?

No thats not the valve train, thats not a pushrod engine.

Get a stethoscope and hear where it comes from.

I would say this does sound like the death rattle. Damn timing chain tensioner....
