i do belive that using solid mounts stop things from cracking and splitting. also why do you hate the idea of steel on steel. just not going to move anymoe. i mean most of your engine is steel on steel.

i know you need solid mounts on flip front cars but i can't rember why. i fairly sure its to stop stuff breking apart at the seams

edit

also why have you asked this question before?

tower mounts
rubber is cack
durlfelx or whatever move too
alloy work like a battory with the steel corrode and fall apart
steel on steel yes it will possible rust but waxoyl kinda solves that and they dont break up
nylon works well to as another aternative

coment about are from experiance, I fit the steel ones as i get these from my surplier and once fitted job done

For Gods sake Davex will you please listen to people! You need to use solid mounts, no matter how many times you ask the question that is going to be the answer. Stop fishing to get a glimmer of a diferent answer from someone just so that you can go with that. If you plan to ignore all the advice you've been given anyway, why ask the question in the first place? Use solid mounts.

dan, don't be so harsh. let him use regular mounts. then we can giggle when we get a post about his subrfame busting away from his car. worth a chuckle

I'm completely not having a go, or anything like that, but I thought I'd double check given your last few questions on this subject, you know you need to use brace bars from the remainder of the inner wing to the front of the subframe?
