whats your oppinion on my situation.

im about to order my stereo, and am wondering whether to fit it where the previous radio was on the far left handside or wait till i get a dash and then fit it in the centre of that.

what do you think?

by the way ill try to get a dash at the smoc event for a cheaper price, but thats in august a long wait, unless i can get one before then...

i have always liked the idea of a dvd playing headunit in the centre of the dash and the sony slave unit with a motorised hide away tft monitor in a centre console, would be immense, that way you could watch dvds and the screen would hide away when not in use,

if i were you i would move it to the centre when you get a new dash.
have you tried a breakers yard, to see if they have any minis. i got some metro door pods so i can put speakers in them for £5, you can get some good scratch from breakers yards. like a mans play ground.

I have a screen in a centre console, with a ps2 under the seat, but normal cd headunit in the dash as i couldn't afford DVD headunit!

I think you should leave it where it is for now until you get a dash..

Rich.

if u get a dvd head unit from the US or japan its like £100 Buy it now.

Usually makes u wudnt hear over here, but reviews are the best way to get an idea what u shud do... bearing that in mind for £250+post u cud have a dvd unit and 5.4"/7.2" motorised screen from ebay(all new)

I got my screen from ebay (the one im selling atm) from japan was about £110 with shipping. Now i used it about 2 times because it was for my mini-caravan. but thats not happening atm.lol

Ultimately it's far safer to have it in the centre of the dash (if you have one) - trust me it's not that easy changing radio stations/cds etc when its in the passenger well

I second what Freda says!

It gets really annoying/rather dangerous changing my tape over all the time.

As soon as I get a dash and my CD player (Cheers Spoonz  ) it will be fitted.
