Previously custodian of a Riley Elf (68 I think), Cooper S (Aust 67 I think) and Moke (7x?), with the last one being disposed of back in 1998, I've just taken delivery of a 1977 Austin 1000. Primarily as a project for me to work on with my 12 year old son.
Took it out for a Gymkhana the morning after picking it up, and no unauthorised smoke/steam escaped, and showed that despite not having done one in ~16 years, it wasn't that hard to get back in to it.
I kept a fairly heavily modified 1300 from the Moke, so step 1 will be to open that up and see what condition it's in. Planning to run it on fuel injection again, but maybe a little less "Heath-Robinson" than the hacked about 1 3/4" SU used last time.
