Yes I agree they can be a bit woolly and the steering over assisted when compared to BMs and Mercs, but once you allow for that they are a nice relaxed drive. Also when going down the motorway people seam to pull over a lot quicker than when driving one of the Germans. Old Rolls' are very under-rated car, hence why they are so cheap.

They are certainly very different to any BM or Merc: it's comfort above any notion of performance whatsoever. The secret, as I understand it, is to sit back, relax your driving style and let the miles pass you by!

But you can't deny that there's a certain glory in such a cheap barge. They can be fun in an ironic sense too, e.g. if you went for one in Gold with a White Vinyl roof: D.I.S.C.O!
