Thanks again for all input. I received this email prior to the end of the warranty running out (from Mini UK). It clearly states that I can take the vehicle to Switzerland and claim back the monies in the UK. I just cannot see why Mini UK are digging their heels in and not honouring this? Surely this email makes it 'cut-and-dry'? I have more email evidence in the dossier I've collated if I need to take it further.
Dear Mr xxxx
Thank you for your email dated September 24, 2013. I am sorry to learn that you are experiencing an issue with the roof on your MINI Cooper S, I can certainly appreciate your concern, especially as you are in France at the moment.
I can advise that the vehicle’s warranty is valid worldwide for the first two years and in the UK only for the third year. However, if you have the work carried out in France and pay for this, you are able to claim back any monies on warrantable issues once you arrive back in the UK. You would need to take the invoice from the MINI Approved Dealership in France or Switzerland to your local MINI UK Approved Dealership in the UK.
Once again, I am sorry that you have had reason to write to us under these circumstances. I trust the above information is of use to you.
Yours sincerely
MINI UK
