to be on the safe side im looking at buying Evans coolant which has a boiling point of 180, expensive, but im willing to put the money into it to keep her happy!
Thats a waterless coolant, the whole system must be completely drained and flushed before using.

Then if you spring a leak its an expensive loss. I am happy to keep my original cooling system which works perfect when kept in good condition.

also just because the boiling point is 180 doesnt stop the temperature getting to 180 lol coolant boils at something like 110-120 i think, by that point you would have already switched it off i would hope

surprised no ones picked up on the point that before doing an oil change on a mini or any other car, to go for a drive the get the oil/engine up to temperature so the oil is thinner. Obviously to change the coolant/antifreeze the engine does need to be cold to prevent burns from boiling hot coolant.

And don't overtighten the sump plug, It's easy to strip the thread.
