Hi all,

I'm pretty gutted to find that someone has driven in to the back of my car while it has been parked, and of course left no note. The damage is all cosmetic but it is frustrating that they did not claim responsibility. I wanted to know a rough estimate for getting it repaired and whether it is worth claiming through my insurance for? The damage was to the rear R/H light and a dent in the boot which you can just make out in the pic.

Cheers

Chris

The exact thig happened to me a few days ago
Dented boot, bumper and cracked light

I'm not going through insurance as it'll cost me less to just get sorted myself rather than a huge jump in premiums on insurance!
( I'm 20 )

Thanks for the responses guys. As I thought, not worth going through my insurance but I'll probs have to fix it at a later date when funds are available. Gutting because the rear end had no imperfections beforehand.

Someone clipped my wing a few months ago (no note or anything!) and I got it beat out and painted for about £100 and it was a much bigger dent! Would have probs been cheaper if I didn't want it done immediately but it took the primer off when it was beat out and I didn't want to risk it. You could probs pick up a bonnet, get it painted and a new light for not that much. I don't know how people can hit someone elses car then drive off, horrible people!

I know! Some people are just careless and dishonest unfortunately. I know the cost isn't too much but it is also time consuming. Plus my car was vandalised in the summer, again nothing major enough to claim for but these are all adding up!
