Mpi Thermostat Bolts

Hi

Are the 3 bolts on an mpi thermostat housing an unusual size. I bought some stainless replacements and they look identical in size but are really tight to bolt in.

If you get a old bolt and a new bolt point the heads away from each other and then get the threaded ends together then hold them up to the light and see if they match up.

The threads should match up if not there different threads.

should be 5/16 unc

Shoud be 5/16" UNC thread, 2.5" long:

Maybe corrosion hinders to screw the bolts in. Clean the inside threads from rust. That helped me replacing the bolts.

 

Watch out for UNC as said before - not UNF !  I would not recommend stainless!
