I'm looking in to fitting a wideband oxygen sensor to the beast to see what's going on and help with tuning the carb,
There's a tube running from the exhaust which is blanked off and looks like it would fit an o2 sensor
My question is does anyone have one of these? Are they worth the cash, and how accurate is it?

they are good, acurate to about 0.1 AFR, certainly good enough to feed the output into an ECU for closed loop fuel control.
the AEM ones are about 150 quid for the guage and sensor, and I know of a lot of people using those on turbo'd cars,
the sensor screws right into the exhaust flow, so you should see a bolt/plug on the exhaust, where it is will depend what manifold you have,
you can see the sensor on this MPI manifold,

if you've got an LCB there may be a fitting (most dont have), if its there it will be down on the Y peice just under the floor.

if there isnt one you can get the bosses cheap off ebay and get it welded in, you might even get one with the AEM,

I can vouch for the AEM one, been running it for a few years now. The weld on bosses aren't expensive, but it's even cheaper to buy a nut of the correct thread & weld that on. That's what I did & it cost about 25p !
